Create a company in a single in-person visit, in less than 1 hour. Empresa na Hora allows you to set up sole proprietorships and limited companies quickly.
What you need before you start
- Cartão de Cidadão (Citizen Card) of all shareholders
- NIF of all shareholders
- Economic activity code (CAE)
- Share capital (minimum €1 per shareholder for limited companies)
- Company name choice — can be pre-approved or chosen on the spot
- Company headquarters address
Step by step
Check pre-approved company names at www.empresanahora.pt (or choose one on the spot)
Go to an Empresa na Hora desk (Registry Office, Loja do Cidadão or Espaço Empresa)
Bring the Citizen Cards of all shareholders
Choose the company name, define the articles of association and share capital
The official sets up the company on the spot — includes commercial and tax registration
The company receives its NIPC, permanent certificate and Social Security registration
The cost is approximately €360 (includes publication and registration)
The company is immediately operational
