  • Cartão de Cidadão (Citizen Card) or Chave Móvel Digital
  • NIF (Tax Identification Number)
  • Medical certificate (for renewal, if applicable)

Step by step

  1. Go to www.imt-ip.pt and click 'Serviços Online' (Online Services)

  2. Sign in with Cartão de Cidadão or CMD

  3. For licence renewal: select 'Carta de Condução' → 'Renovar' (Renew)

  4. Check if the licence has expired or is close to expiring

  5. Fill in the form with your updated personal details

  6. If required, upload the medical fitness certificate

  7. Pay the renewal fee online

  8. The new licence is sent to your registered address within 10–15 business days
