IMT Online (Transport Authority Portal)
Renew your driving licence, check infractions, pay fees and manage vehicle and transport matters on the IMT portal.
What you need before you start
- Driving licence number (Número da carta de condução)
- Cartão de Cidadão (Citizen Card) or Chave Móvel Digital
- NIF (Tax Identification Number)
- Medical certificate (for renewal, if applicable)
Step by step
Go to www.imt-ip.pt and click 'Serviços Online' (Online Services)
Sign in with Cartão de Cidadão or CMD
For licence renewal: select 'Carta de Condução' → 'Renovar' (Renew)
Check if the licence has expired or is close to expiring
Fill in the form with your updated personal details
If required, upload the medical fitness certificate
Pay the renewal fee online
The new licence is sent to your registered address within 10–15 business days
