Segurança Social Direta (Social Security Portal)
Access unemployment benefits, family allowance, pensions, parental leave and other social support through Segurança Social Direta.
What you need before you start
- NISS (Social Security Identification Number / Número de Identificação da Segurança Social)
- Cartão de Cidadão (Citizen Card) or Chave Móvel Digital
- Social Security access password (if applicable)
Step by step
Go to www.seg-social.pt and click 'Segurança Social Direta'
Click 'Iniciar Sessão' (Sign in)
Authenticate with Cartão de Cidadão, CMD or NIF + password
On the dashboard, choose the desired area (e.g. 'Prestações' / Benefits)
For family allowance: select 'Família e Comunidade' → 'Abono de Família'
Fill in the form with household data
Attach required documents (income certificates, etc.)
Submit the request and note down the case number for tracking
