Step by step

  1. Go to www.seg-social.pt and click 'Segurança Social Direta'

  2. Click 'Iniciar Sessão' (Sign in)

  3. Authenticate with Cartão de Cidadão, CMD or NIF + password

  4. On the dashboard, choose the desired area (e.g. 'Prestações' / Benefits)

  5. For family allowance: select 'Família e Comunidade' → 'Abono de Família'

  6. Fill in the form with household data

  7. Attach required documents (income certificates, etc.)

  8. Submit the request and note down the case number for tracking
