IUC – Single Vehicle Tax (Imposto Único de Circulação)
Pay your vehicle's Single Vehicle Tax (IUC) online. Mandatory annual tax for all owners of vehicles registered in Portugal.
What you need before you start
- NIF (Tax Identification Number / Número de Identificação Fiscal)
- Portal das Finanças access password or Chave Móvel Digital
- Vehicle registration plate (Matrícula)
- Vehicle registration document details (DUA)
Step by step
Go to www.portaldasfinancas.gov.pt
Authenticate with NIF and password or CMD
Search for 'IUC' or go to 'Serviços' → 'IUC'
Select the vehicle (it will appear automatically if registered under your NIF)
Check the amount due and payment deadline
Click 'Emitir Documento de Pagamento' (Issue Payment Document)
Pay by ATM, online banking or MB WAY using the generated reference
Keep the payment receipt
