Porta 65 – Youth Rental Support
Apply for Porta 65 Jovem, a monthly financial aid to help young people aged 18 to 35 pay their rent. Support up to 50% of the rent amount.
What you need before you start
- Aged between 18 and 35 (up to 37 for couples)
- Valid rental contract
- Household income within the defined limits
- Residence in Portugal
- Cartão de Cidadão (Citizen Card) or Chave Móvel Digital
- Previous year's IRS tax return
Step by step
Go to www.portaldahabitacao.pt and search for 'Porta 65 Jovem'
Check the application periods (they open several times a year)
Authenticate with CMD or Cartão de Cidadão
Fill in the application with personal details, contract data and income
Upload the required documents (contract, IRS return, ID)
Submit the application within the open period deadline
Wait for evaluation and publication of results (30–90 days)
If approved, the support is paid monthly by bank transfer for 12 months
