Rendimento Social de Inserção – RSI (Social Integration Income)
Apply for the Social Integration Income (RSI), a benefit for individuals and families in extreme poverty, combined with a social integration programme.
What you need before you start
- NISS of all household members
- Cartão de Cidadão (Citizen Card) or Chave Móvel Digital
- Legal residence in Portugal
- Household income below the threshold set by Social Security
- Availability to comply with the integration programme (training, employment, etc.)
Step by step
Go to Segurança Social Direta at www.seg-social.pt
Sign in with CMD or NIF + password
Select 'Ação Social' (Social Action) → 'Rendimento Social de Inserção'
Fill in the form with data for all household members
Declare the household's income (employment, pensions, benefits, etc.)
Attach supporting documents (IRS return, payslips, rental contract)
Submit the application and wait for review (timeframe: 30 business days)
If approved, sign the integration contract and receive monthly payments
