Via Verde – Toll Payments
Subscribe to Via Verde for automatic toll, parking, fuel and ferry payments. You can also pay electronic tolls (ex-SCUT) without a device.
What you need before you start
- Driving licence or Cartão de Cidadão (Citizen Card)
- NIF (Tax Identification Number)
- IBAN or credit card for direct debit
- Vehicle registration plate (Matrícula)
Step by step
Go to www.viaverde.pt and click 'Aderir' (Subscribe)
Choose the subscription type: Via Verde (with device) or Via Verde Visitors (tourists)
Fill in your personal, vehicle and banking details
Choose where to pick up the device (Via Verde shop, CTT post office, or postal delivery)
Install the device on the windshield following the instructions
To pay tolls without a device: go to www.pagamentodeportagens.pt
Enter the registration plate and NIF to get an ATM payment reference (within 5 days of passage)
Pay via CTT app, ATM, Payshop shops or online
Tip: If in doubt, always contact the official service directly.
