Atestado Multiusos (Multi-Purpose Disability Certificate)
Apply for the Multi-Purpose Certificate to prove a disability rating of 60% or above. Grants access to tax benefits, exemptions and social support.
What you need before you start
- Cartão de Cidadão (Citizen Card) or Chave Móvel Digital
- Medical reports proving the health condition
- NIF (Tax Identification Number)
- Health User Number (Número de Utente de Saúde)
Step by step
Ask your attending physician for updated clinical reports
Go to ePortugal or the Regional Health Administration (ARS)
Submit the request for a medical board disability assessment
Wait for the medical board summons (may take weeks to months)
Attend the medical board with all reports and test results
The board assigns a disability percentage rating
If 60% or above, the Multi-Purpose Certificate is issued
The certificate grants tax exemptions (IRS, vehicle VAT), parking badge and other benefits
